Dr Josie Robb

Josie is a postdoctoral research associate working on a collaborative project between IBEx and ENRG lead by Dr. Mark Russell and Dr. Kate Ellacott. In this project she is investigating the role of STAT3 in metabolically driven insulin release from the pancreatic β-cell. Her main research interests are in the interplay between metabolism and inflammation, both at a cellular and whole body level. She has recently completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Kate Ellacott, which investigated cellular immunometabolism in astrocytes. Prior to working at the University of Exeter, Josie studied for her B.Sc. Hons. in Biological Sciences at Lancaster University.

Hobbies: Outside the lab Josie mainly enjoys climbing and generally being outdoors.
